Cynthia launched her fashion modeling career after she moved from New York. In a short time Cynthia was signed to a five-year agreement to work with Wihelmina Models. It led to an extremely successful book and cover for Essence Magazine. Cynthia's cover for Essence wasn't just one of their best covers, but was Susan Taylor's favourite. Cynthia would soon book her second cover. This started her career off in the right direction. Her next destination was Paris and Milan, which was where she walked on the runways during Paris and Milan Fashion Week. Cynthia has lived overseas for nearly one year, returned to New York City where she was very in demand. The campaigns for Maybelline Oil of Olay Macy's and Macy's was among her first assignments. Magazine editorials included for Vogue, Glamour, Elle, Essence and Vanity Fair quickly followed. Cynthia's career was helped by her being chosen ahead of Naomi Campbell for the co-starring character in "Without You", I'm nothing" opposite Sandra Bernhadt.
